State of the Business Sales Market 15th to 30th January 2013

We’ll let the graphs do the talking in this report.BF Brokers Diamond Logo

You can see from the first graph the spike in the number of Confidentiality Agreements signed by prospective buyers in the later part of January (note we were closed for the first two weeks of January).  The second graph records the amount of activity in our office, the increase in enquiries and ‘work’ involved with business sales.

Whilst both these graphs highlight a positive trend line in which support my belief, that many more business sales transactions will occur in 2013 compared to 2012.  However we will not and can not rest on this alone as the third graph below shows what happened to enquiries once February 2012 finished. I don’t suspect this drop will occur again, as steady low interest rates will encourage prospects to invest in themselves, in business and the economy again.  If positive enquiries and trends continue we maybe just maybe see a slight increase in values for small businesses, which would be a first for many years.
